over 500 RV's, 350 makes and models and 50 manufacturers in over 8 acres. Motor homes, fifth

the laborers, servants and gentlemen and ladies of the venerable Hudson's Bay Company with

Empty Bowls

Empty Bowls is a project that offers the arts and anti-hunger communities a rare and unique chance
to unite their efforts. The MetroParks Foundation and Emergency Food Network have joined
together for the past eight years to host this event and help fill some of the empty bowls in Pierce
County. Pacific Northwest Potters, volunteers throughout the arts community and emergency food
system, the Tacoma Weavers’ Guild, local students, local restaurants and many more caring
individuals work together each year to make this event a success. Come and pick out one
bowl - or ten - and matching placemats, and then join us for a bowl of soup served by some of
the best chefs in town. Bowls are $10 each, placemats prices vary, and soup is served (in a
separate bowl) with each purchase.

Make a Difference Day
Lakewood City Hall Council Chambers, 6000 Main St SW, Lakewood
8am-12pm. This national day of community service is organized locally by the Lakewood Youth
Council. It begins with a Kick-Off Event in Council Chambers at City Hall with refreshments at
8am and the program beginning at 8:30am. There will be four sites this year including: Invasive
plant removal and beautification at Fort Steilacoom Park, sorting donated clothes for Caring for
Kids, rehabilitation of the abandoned blueberry farm at Flett Creek and a salute to our soldiers
serving in Iraq with a card/letter writing project. Site work will begin at 9am and be completed by
noon.
