St. Clare Hospital

Serving Lakewood and its surrounding communities with a wide range of services including the latest diagnostic, state-of-the-art medical, surgical and emergency services specialty care, St. Clare is part of the Franciscan Health System family of medical services that serve the residents of Pierce and South King Counties. Franciscan Women's Care Services at St. Clare include a Family Birth Center featuring single-room birthing suites, a midwifery clinic, mammography clinic, and a variety of other health and wellness services for women of all ages.

Franciscan Heart Center services at St. Clare include rapid response in the 24th Hour Emergency Department and critical care unit. Patients needing open heart surgery or other services may rely upon a St. Clare-affiliated physician to coordinate their care at nearby St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma.

Clover Park Technical College

The Technical College is job-oriented, quality focused, convenient, affordable and friendly. With a full-time enrollment of approximately 3,000 students and nearly 22,000 students enrolled in continuing education classes, CPTC is one of the largest technical colleges in Washington. The college offers over 50 programs in the occupational areas of Business, Health, Technology, Professional Service and Trades careers. The majority of these programs can be completed in two years or less; some programs offer an Associate of Applied Technology Degree upon successful completion.

With a history rich with success, the college remains focused on the future. Out newly-remodeled state-of-the-art Media Communications Center opened in last year and construction of the new Aviation Facilities at Thun Field is scheduled for completion this fall.

CPTC is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges. The college received accreditation in December 1999.
